This property is a stunning example - one of the finest in Asturias - of a typical Casona de Indiana; magnificent manor houses built in the Indiano style by Asturian emigrants who made their fortunes in Cuba and South America.

It is superbly situated on the promenade directly in front of the Santa Marina beach in Ribadesella. Surrounded by a garden and providing great views, it has a direct access to the beach. The house has been fully restored, maintaining all the charm of the original building including the magnificent mahogany staircase. It features just 17 en-suite bedrooms with complete bathroom, TV, mini-bar, safe and free high speed internet connection. Two “special” rooms are available which are located on the top floor and each has a private balcony with views to the ocean. Worth considering if you plan a longer stay or for a special occasion.

The hotel also has private parking, a fine restaurant*, laundry service, room service and a lift.

Additional information

Ribadesella is an old attractive fishing town, somewhat smaller than Llanes – also a popular fishing village in the Asturian Coast. Ribadesella lies at the mouth of the River Sella, which divides the town. On the eastern side of the river lies the old town and fishing harbour which has some outstanding buildings such as the 16th century Cutre House and many buildings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.  On the western side lies the Santa Marina beach, which developed as a popular bathing resort at the turn of the century. There are still many fine examples here of outstanding residential houses which were constructed in the "Belle epoch" period, one of these being the hotel presented above.

Also in Ribadesella are the famous caves of Tito Bustillo, with cave paintings of horse and deer from the middle Magdalenian period. These are well worth a visit, but check cave opening times and best arrival time so as to secure an entrance. The number of visitors entering the caves each day is strictly controlled.

The Vega beach, west of Ribadesella is also worth mentioning. This is a protected area due to its sand dunes and accompanying flora and fauna. There is very little development on this sandy beach, almost one kilometre long. It is lovely to walk and offers excellent conditions to experienced surfers.
