Parador de Zamora - This palace, built on the site of a former Roman fortress in the middle of the 15th century, rises up in the historical centre of the capital of the province of Zamora. It offers the traveller the opportunity to discover all the beauty of the natural, monumental and artistic surroundings of the lands of Zamora.
The medieval flavour of the interior, which can be appreciated in decor such as armour, noble rugs and attractive four poster beds, is combined with the Renaissance style of its courtyard, glazed wooden gallery and coats of arms. Polished wooden floors and beams also bring warmth to this lovely Parador.
Facilities include a refreshing swimming pool located in a well tended garden. The restaurant menu offers excellent dishes from traditional recipes such as bacalao a la tranca (a local cod dish), pulpo a la sanabresa (tasty octopus), presas de ternera (stuffed roast veal) and for dessert, rebojo zamorano (sweet cakes).
