Description

This magnificent hotel building which is located in the centre of Madrid between the Spanish Parliament and the Villahermoso Palace, home to the Thyssen-Bornemizsa collection of paintings, was opened in 1912 having taken just 15 months to construct.

The hotel, a clear example of the enthusiasm for the French neo-Baroque style reigning in Madrid in 1912, was opened by King Alfonso XIII and immediately took its place as one of Europe’s leading hotels. A position that it holds to this day.

Everything about the hotel is luxurious with attention to the finest detail and guests needs being of the utmost priority. The location is ideal for exploring Madrid and especially the Prado Museum which is just a short walk.

Every bedroom in the hotel is equipped to the highest standard and feature a complete bathroom, air conditioning, central-heating, telephone, safety-box, satellite, mini-bar, hair-dryer, alarm-clock, soundproofing and daily newspaper. Non-smoking rooms and rooms specially adapted for those with disabilities are also available.

Additional facilities include conference-rooms, meeting-rooms, private garage, bar, wireless internet, porter service, solarium, gym, sauna and shops.

Special mention should be made of the excellent La Cupola Restaurant where Mediterranean delicacies prepared with an Italian flair are the specialty.
