2 nights Sunday and Monday
Of Interest: This Parador is in the heart of the Costa Brava region, in a beautiful coastal spot set amongst pine trees which stretch down to the sea, beaches and coves. Exploring from Blanes to Portbou, you encounter the Cap de Creus Nature Reserve, with Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery and the towns of Cadaques (Salvador Dali lived many years here), the Aiguamolls de l’Emporda and Illes Medes nature reserves, as well as Roses Bay (nearby is the infamous El Bulli Restaurant), the ruins of Empuries, capes Begur and Palafrugell, Sant Sebastia Lighthouse, the Cap Roig gardens, the vila vella or old quarter of Tossa de Mar, and the botanical gardens of Santa Clotilde, Pinya de Rosa and Marimurtra, between Lloret and Blanes. Discover also charming Peralada – castle and casino, Figueres, with the amazing theatre museum of the renowned artist Salvador Dali, and beautifully preserved medieval towns such as Pals, Peratallada and Pubol, the handcrafted pottery of La Bisbal, the Pla de l’Estany area with its capital, Banyoles, and the city of Girona, home to a cathedral and Jewish quarter. For walkers, there is an unforgettable coastal walk from Playa D´Aro to Palamos. This area is by far offers the best of the Costa Brava.
1 night Tuesday
Of Interest: This Parador allows you to enjoy the silence and calm of a unique spot, surrounded by mountains and with lovely views of Sau Lake. From the Parador, it is possible to follow walking routes through the area. A must-see is San Pere de Casserres Monastery. Casserres is a former castle (there are records of a church dedicated to Sant Pere already in the 10th century) of the viscounts of Osona-Cardona, who founded the monastery around 1005. The nearby town of Vic offers interesting sights such as the Vic Episcopal Museum, the cathedral bell tower and crypt, Queralt Bridge, Montcada Castle, Sant Sixt Church and the Albergueria (once a hospital for the poor). The streets of the old quarter call out to be explored. Another possibility is nearby Barcelona, not to be overlooked during this break.
2 nights Wednesday & Thursday
Of Interest: In Seu you can explore Santa Maria d'Urgell Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum. Another must-see is Canonges Street, with its arcades and shops. The Segre Olympic Park in Seu is just the place for sports and recreation, offering sports such as canoeing and rafting in facilities which were used for the 1992 Olympic Games, and which are still vibrant and busy today. The Cadi-Moixero Nature Reserve offers unsurpassed beauty, allowing you to discover this region’s natural resources on foot. You can also take advantage of your time at the Parador to visit nearby Andorra and enjoy a day’s shopping. Another option is the water park. Caldea is the largest thermal leisure center in southern Europe, with 25,000 m2 for you to relax and enjoy in while also benefiting your health.
2 nights friday and Saturday
Of Interest: On your journey from Seu to Arties you will discover the beauty of the Pyrenees. In the Aran Valley, we recommend the Romanesque Route, allowing you to explore such places as Bossost, with its Era Mair de Diu dera Purificacion Church; Salardu, with Sant Andreu Church; and Arties, with Santa Maria Church. Aiguestortes and Estany de Sant Maurice National Park is so incredibly beautiful and majestic that its ability to surprise visitors knows no limits. Any season of the year, the national park offers you all the immense beauty of nature. Another must-see is the spa at the Parador itself, where you can incorporate time for rest and relaxation into your trip.
