The Rabelo boats are so much a part of the essence of Porto and the Douro river.  Once used to transport goods, people and barrels of port wine from the Douro vineyards to the wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, they are now used as charming leisure craft offering visitors trips along the Douro river, under all the city’s bridges to the mouth of the river near Foz. 

Rabelos offer an amazing 360º degree panoramic view of the river, of the city’s six bridges, and the historic waterfront buildings as well as Gaia and its wine cellars.
