The markets of Spain and Portugal are wonderful to visit.  There are traditional markets held weekly in almost every town in Spain & Portugal.   While in the bigger cities there are an abundance of permanent great markets to visit.  Some have even been adapted and now mix the traditional market selling fresh produce with interesting cafe and bar stalls.

Places like the  Mercado da Ribeira in Lisbon or the Mercado do Bolhao in Porto.  The Mercado de la Boqueria in Barcelona and Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid.
