Description and location

Parador de Arties - The snow-capped peaks and clear skies of the Aran Valley deep in the heart of the Pyrenees make up the scenic background for this Parador built over the ruins of the XVI century home of Gaspar de Portola – discoverer of California and at one time Governor of San Francisco.

The chapel and tower of the original building have been preserved within the new structure which is typical mountain style with black slate roof. A very comfortable hotel with unique heated pool that is half outdoors and half indoors. A nature lover’s paradise
