PARADORES

Parador de Gredos

Ref. PAR 51

Parador de Gredos - The Gredos mountain range has given refuge to this stone building, the first of the Paradores, since 1928, among crystalline waters, wild rocks and green pine groves. Its location, on El Alto del Risquillo, is a privileged viewpoint over the Tormes valley, the Gredos massif and the Piedrahita and Béjar mountain ranges, becoming a centre for excursions. Its sturdy stone walls conceal an interior in which the comfortable bedrooms stand out, some with terraces. The classicism of the wood prevails in the dining room, library and living rooms. The presence of granite columns and the furniture offer the whole a traditional Castilian style. The quality of the meats and local vegetables, such as the famous 'Judías del Barco' (green beans) supply a cuisine rich in roasts and comforting soups and stews.
