Parador de Leon

Description and location

Parador de Leon ( Hostal San Marcos ). This monumental building is a 16th century monastery-hospital with a stunning plateresque facade built around 1515. The interior is filled with works of art and you can also see the well preserved church, cloisters and chapter house; rooms that long ago gave shelter to pilgrims. The decor reflects the nobility of this fine building.

In the Parador´s restaurant guests can enjoy local specialities such as maragato cocido (meat stew with chick peas), local sausage, cured meats and frog´s legs.
