Description and location

The Parador de Ronda in Andalusia is one of the most dramatically situated Paradores being located as it is on the lip of the El Tajo Gorge in the centre of Ronda. This privileged location is nestled between the famous Ronda bullring (one of the oldest in the country) and the emblematic Puente Nuevo built in the year 1761, which spans the 120 metre deep gorge that divides the Old Town and the new town.

This charming hotel was built in rustic style on the site of the former town hall.  It is an impressive enclave, with unique views over the surrounding countryside.  Blues, greens, yellows and reds make up the shades of the interior. The most colourful materials decorate the sofas and curtains that adorn the bright spacious lounges adorned with an abundance of plants. The Parador Ronda also has an outdoor swimming pool and garden area for guests to relax in and cool off from the warm summer sun.

There are a selection of bedroom types at the Parador de Ronda, the best being the superior rooms and split-level suites with terraces.  They provide unbeatable views.

The hotel´s restaurant offers excellent Andalusian style dishes such as stewed partridge, roast kid, rabbit 'a la rondena', almond soup, 'ajo blanco' (a cold garlic soup which is surprisingly delicious) and 'salmorejo'. The most noteworthy desserts are 'Yemas rondenas' (sweet egg yolk flans), 'tortitas de miel' (a type of cake with honey) and 'queso de almendras' (almond cheese).
